My grandparents by to go on a trip with me and my sister?

Question by Penelope: My grandparents by to go on a trip with me and my sister?
I’m 15, my sisters 12, our father just passed away and his parents (my grandparents) want to treat us to a trip to just get away and have fun and my grandparents are also getting older so they figure they should go on a trip with us now before they don’t remember who I am.. They want to go somewhere they haven’t been before, so no Ecuador, china, virgin islands, australia, hawaii, or most of Europe. I was thinking Mexico, Alaska, Galapagos, Brazil 2016 Olympics (it’s in a few years but my grandparents are still pretty healthy. They can both walk around all day without a cane or walker.) my grandpa and I like cruises and sailboats, I like swimming in pools and oceans, and my grandma likes shopping and taking pictures. I speak fluent Spanish, my mother and grandma know a little Spanish and German, and we all have passports and really as large a budget as necessary. We don’t want to cut any corners on this trip. Thanks

Q&A: Should I tell my wife all of my business trip plans?

Question by Victor: Should I tell my wife all of my business trip plans?
In between China and India I am planning to stop over a few days in Phuket, Thailand, where I will probably lay on the beach with topless European women and cruise several nightclubs that are packed with Thai prostitutes. I may possibly rent a motor scooter so that I can take one or more of them back to my hotel room.

I also hope to snorkel, either at the north end of Kata beach or off of Phi Phi island.

Would it be practical for me to elaborate with my wife on the details of this weekend stopover in the middle of my lengthy and important business trip?

Day trip Guilin to Longsheng and Yangshuo?

Question by Gavin: Day trip Guilin to Longsheng and Yangshuo?
I’m going to China next year and wanted to know whats the best way to see Guilin, Yangshuo, and Longsheng(rice terraces) in 4 full days(3 nights). I was thinking:
Day 1: Arrive in Guilin, explore
Day 2: Longsheng day trip
Day 3: Yangshuo day trip(li river cruise) or possibly spend the night?
Day 4: Explore rest of Guilin and fly out

Is this efficient, or is there a better way to do it? Thanks for the help!

I need help planning a trip to China?

Question by jamescroc: I need help planning a trip to China?
Hello,

I am trying to plan a trip to China. I am currently a US citizen living in Georgia. I plan on going alone to China and basically want to backpack to several places including Beijing, the Yangtze river, and Shanghai. I am having trouble finding out how to obtain a visa since there is no Chinese embassy near me and I would also like to know how difficult it is to get a hotel room. I would rather not book them in advance so that I’m not stuck to a strict time schedule. Should them book in advance or can I play it by ear when I arrive? Any advice is appreciated.
I am planning on staying through late May/early April.

Answer by rolly
Late May or early April is a great time to visit China, by travelling in spring you avoid the bitterly cold winter and super humid summer. Getting a hotel shouldn’t be tricky during that time, and I don’t think booking ahead will be overly necessary. Just avoid May 1st to May 7th, the week long May Day national holiday is super hectic, and finding any hotel rooms will be tricky country wide.
In Australia (I’m not sure about the USA), as long as you have a return ticket booked, most travel agents can obtain a 1 month tourist visa without any difficulty. I loved back-packing around China! Go for it mate! You’ll have a ball!

Which Trip would you think is best for my situation?

Question by _: Which Trip would you think is best for my situation?
I am looking at a trip with 2 other people to either
Germany+Netherlands with Rhine Cruise
Italy and Switzerland
Turkey (Istanbul and Turquoise Coast)
China (Beijing, Xian, Gullin, Shanghai)
We went to London and Paris for 10 days and it was very busy and on the go. We want something that is simple and leisurely. We want to take in the surrounding and just relax. Also we want a place that the Cuisine is more meat and etc. A place that does not have a lot of fish or spicy food. BTW
this would be in July of 2010 so maybe somewhere wiht not a lot of tourist.

I am going with a large group to China with Tibet being part of the trip….?

Question by blnbyrose: I am going with a large group to China with Tibet being part of the trip….?
and then going on a trip up the Yangtze river for a few days. Our group will be about 20 people. We will spend the last 4 days in Beijing. I have been to Beijing once but would like to know if anyone has any recomendations on what to do there? We will be staying within walking distance of Tieneman Square and the Forbiden City. We will see that stuff. Any ideas on cool stuff to take people to when we are there? For instance any restaurants or attractions that you really liked? We will go to the great wall also just looking for a unique experience of something that maybe is not done by your average tourist. We will be on our own so anything is possible. Thank you.

Buy yourselves a good interpreter there are lots of local who will do this for a small sum. Your travel agent may be able to hook you up with an interpreter. Go to the Forbidden City. Your interpreter will tell you other places to see and things to do also restaurant to visit.

Q&A: Any recommendations for a 2-3 trip starting point Hangzhou, China?

Question by Dorit-:): Any recommendations for a 2-3 trip starting point Hangzhou, China?
We are planning a trip on the second half on March. We like to travel on our own, no guided tours, possibly meeting with local guides in points of interest.
We are concerned about the weather. Is it too cold for traveling in the area?
We thought about trip on the Yangtze river.
Any recommendations?
Dorit

2-3 days is not much to visit the Yangtze, but it’s doable.

The other “obvious” choices in that area would of course be Souzhou and Shanghai.
