After the renovation, it looks quite attractive for an old rust bucket. Agree?

I wonder how many dissidents are undergoing re-education while tredding on the hamster wheels in the engine room…
@Charlie – Thanks for providing some valid references for a change. You’re getting better at this. Now, compared to the US Aircraft Carriers you’ve mentioned, how big is this “rust bucket” that the PLAN has scraped, painted, and polished? Got nuclear power??? Don’t get me wrong here, I think they’ve made it look pretty good. Lastly, what’s the REAL name assigned to it?
That’s a test. Let’s see who first comes up with the name it will be commissioned under.
I’ll start with: 坐鴨

Your article describes an aircraft carrier that was built in the 1980s that is being refitted with the most modern equipment. I don’t see how the term “rust bucket” applies, unless you are referring to the aging fleets of other countries. Most of America’s aircraft carrier fleet is older than this craft. For example, the USS Enterprise was commissioned in 1961 and the USS Nimitz in 1975. Britain doesn’t even have a fixed wing aircraft carrier anymore. Britain recently sold their last carrier for scrap due to their nation’s financial problems.

Where can I find a cooler bag not made in china?

Question by Rachel: Where can I find a cooler bag not made in china?
I have been searching all over the place for a cooler bag that is not made in china. I’ve tried most grocery stores and cruised around on the internet for awhile. All I could find was a lot of eco friendly sites, but I wasn’t able to locate a ‘not made in china’ directory.

Q&A: Why do people think that China relies on the West so much?

Question by Mr Miyagi wants a kiss: Why do people think that China relies on the West so much?
It is a myth, People must have overlooked the fact that China mines 97% of all rare earth metals, these metals are used in nuclear weapons, cruise missiles, catalytic converters, laptops, wind turbines, engines and just about every new green tech there is among millions of other things. China has restricted exports to Europe and the USA, they have basically played a great game. China has in recent years diversified its investments and they are waiting for the USA to loosen its grip on the mideast and will move in like they have done with south Asia and Africa.
@ Scott – i guess you have not been following how China has diversified their economy – there is no need to get angry it is just the way they have played such a good game.

yangtze river in china?

Question by yaaghoubleis: yangtze river in china?
Hello!

I would like to see the most beautiful nature of china ,Someone suggests yangtze river, yangtze is long river,

Which city do you suggest near yangtze?

Best answer:

Answer by World Unity/Peace
Visited it a few times via a small city called Zhangjiagang (went there because there was a golf course my dad likes to play in on an island in the river) near Shanghai. If you’ve been to world class places such as the Canadian Rockies, which I have visited before, it wouldn’t even seem anywhere near to being a beautiful place. I’d suggest you visit from a city in western China.

Are you glad Bill Clinton signed a trade deal with China and shipped our jobs over seas?

Question by Neo Neocon: Are you glad Bill Clinton signed a trade deal with China and shipped our jobs over seas?
I just love it when I am in hardware stores these days and you can’t find anything that isn’t made in China. That has to be doing wonders for our economy. Clinton even sent them the tooling to build cruise missiles, and advanced missile targeting technology.

Did he do that single handedly or did the GOP congress write the legislation? That’s what I thought.

The Right needs to stop pretending they are impartial observers…

What are my options for a slow boat to China?

Question by kendell c: What are my options for a slow boat to China?
If one did not fly and wanted to get to China from the US what would his options for a ship be? Money and time not an issue but aside from chartering a Yacht. Are there strictly passenger ships or cruise ships that go from the US to China? Don’t really want to hitch a ride on an oil tanker either.
And how many days/weeks would it take?

Best answer:

Answer by Rillifane
You say that you don’t want to “hitch a ride on an oil tanker” but you may be unaware that many commericial cargo carriers routinely carry passengers (usually only a dozen or so) and are well equpped to do so. Compare the problems of water diversions on the Yangtze River in China with those of the Colorado River?

Question by CountryGirl: Compare the problems of water diversions on the Yangtze River in China with those of the Colorado River?

Best answer:

Answer by Ray K
As a river increases in size, the problems associated with diversion increase exponentially. While we were able to bore/drill two diversion tunnels through solid rock, the extreme size of the Yangtze requires tunnels at least 5 times(?) larger or more in number. (As you double the cross sectional area of the tunnel, you should be able to pass 4 X the volume).
