Q&A: Cruises that allow dogs? China- Canada/or Seattle?

Question by Jane D: Cruises that allow dogs? China- Canada/or Seattle?
Ok so I mae another post somewhere about transporting my dog.. but no one had any comments about cruises so here it goes..

I’m looking for some type of other way, besides flying, to bring my dog home, from China to Canada.

Does anyone out there know of any boats/cruises from China-Canada???That would allow one large dog?
thank you
Thanks for the helpful information..

Does anyone know what the conditions are like on freighters?? I’m a 22 year old female.. will be travelling alone. When someone says freighter I picture a bunch of scrubby men.. is this safe for me?

Nope – not the major lines, for sure.

With the possible exception of Cunard, which did have a kennel aboard the QE2. I don’t think they have that on the new ships, however. And their ships go into New York, generally – a China to Canada cruise would be unlikely in the extreme.

I don’t know where you’re going, but I don’t think you need to worry about the food much….it’s great. As for the weather, it depends on where and when you’re going.

It depends on which city are you going to. Usually in Shanghai and Peking are more expansive, but everyone include the chinese wants to live there, and it also depends if you want to live in the center of the city or in the countryside. Living costs would be at least 450 pounds.

Yes, there is pollution. If you are asthmatic you may want to take precaution. Pickpockets are also common. So is diarrhea. Not too different from other exotic place.

How to get from Yichang to Guilin (China)?

Question by Alex F: How to get from Yichang to Guilin (China)?
Little help!
My cruise will be finished in Yichang at 13.30. I would like to go to Guilin as my next destination but can’t find any info how to get in there. Somebody said that the best way is to take train to Yueyang and than to Guilin but I can’t find the train schedules for this destinations. Anyone can help? I do not want to take a flight. Thank you.

Best answer:

Answer by China Roamer
there’s no direct train between Yichang and Guilin. You can take train to Liuzhou fist, which is about 1.5 hours journey to Guilin

A: Take the No.1473 train, leave Yichang at 13:00, arrived Liuzhou at 04:39, takes around 16 hours. While your ship arrived Yichang at 13:30, and if you take this train, you need to stay Yichang overnight. Arrive Liuzhou, you can take the early bus (around 7am)which is faster than taking train to Guilin

B: Take the K8086/K8083 train to Wuchang first, leave Yichang at 14:28 and arrive Wuchang at 19:24, takes around 4.5 hours. Then take the K21 train to Guilin, leaves at 00:49, arrive guilin after 11 hours, at 12:29.

The B is a little rush as you will rush from port to railway station in 1 hours. Just remember that you need to book the ticket in advance.

China has right to maneuver its ship as it like. We are not sending our warship out to attack other country such as America does with its warship.

Should I go to China or a tour around Europe?

Question by ….: Should I go to China or a tour around Europe?
Well, my Grandma is quite sick, she cant move in bed, and we were planning to see her this Summer in Shanghai. But tickets are double the price they were last year, and we dont have all the money in the world, and for just a little more, we could go for a cruise around Europe…

Best answer:

Answer by Kae
I would always choose family. A cruise through Europe will never go away…but seeing your grandmother will. Plus, Shanghai in summer would be fun.

Zhenjiang port in China on Yangtze river is dry port or sea port ?. can any body confirm. another is?

Question by RAM G: Zhenjiang port in China on Yangtze river is dry port or sea port ?. can any body confirm. another is?
Zhanjiang but i am looking info about zhenjiang the difference is about ‘a’ and ‘e’ in both ports . alphabet ‘e’ is mine ‘Zhenjiang’
It is sea port or inland port. i want to know if ship comes from other countries will it come directly to zhenjiang or will it unload its container somewhere else and then it will be transported in road transport to zhenjiang

Best answer:

Answer by samhassnn
Zhenjiang is an important transportation hub owing to its location near the intersection of the Yangtze River and the Grand Canal.
Zhenjiang,Jiangsu Province, boasts a total of 269.7km-long riverside bank lines, amongst which 87.2km-long deep-water bank lines are below minus 10 meters. So far the 25km-long deep-water bank lines have been developed in the whole city, only 29 percent of all. Thus the potential bank line advantages are urgently to be transferred into actual productivity.

The port is inland, and a deep channel port and can accomodate large cargo ships.See the map below.
