After the renovation, it looks quite attractive for an old rust bucket. Agree?

I wonder how many dissidents are undergoing re-education while tredding on the hamster wheels in the engine room…
@Charlie – Thanks for providing some valid references for a change. You’re getting better at this. Now, compared to the US Aircraft Carriers you’ve mentioned, how big is this “rust bucket” that the PLAN has scraped, painted, and polished? Got nuclear power??? Don’t get me wrong here, I think they’ve made it look pretty good. Lastly, what’s the REAL name assigned to it?
That’s a test. Let’s see who first comes up with the name it will be commissioned under.
I’ll start with: 坐鴨

Your article describes an aircraft carrier that was built in the 1980s that is being refitted with the most modern equipment. I don’t see how the term “rust bucket” applies, unless you are referring to the aging fleets of other countries. Most of America’s aircraft carrier fleet is older than this craft. For example, the USS Enterprise was commissioned in 1961 and the USS Nimitz in 1975. Britain doesn’t even have a fixed wing aircraft carrier anymore. Britain recently sold their last carrier for scrap due to their nation’s financial problems.

First define river regimes

Regime. “Regime theory” is a theory of the forming of channels in material carried by the streams. As used in this sense, the word “regime” applies only to streams that make at least part of their boundaries from their transported load and part of their transported load from their boundaries, carrying out the process at different places and times in any one stream in a balanced or alternating manner that prevents unlimited growth or removal of boundaries. A stream, river, or canal of this type is called a “regime stream, river, or canal.” A regime channel is said to be “in regime” when it has achieved average equilibrium; that is, the average values of the quantities that constitute regime do not show a definite trend over a considerable period–generally of the order of a decade. In unspecialized use “regime” and “regimen” are synonyms. (After Blench, 1957, p. 2.)

Regimen of a stream. The system or order characteristic of a stream; in other words, its habits with respect to velocity and volume, form of and changes in channel, capacity to transport sediment, and amount of material supplied for transportation. The term is also applied to a stream which has reached an equilibrium between corrosion and deposition or, in other words, to a graded stream. (Bryan, 1922. p. 89)

After you know what river regimes means you can do your research.

Do an AOL search type in ( influence of the Yangtze river ) you should get all the information you need.

I hope this helps.

Cruise to Bermuda but Passport expiring soon?

Question by Tom: Cruise to Bermuda but Passport expiring soon?
I have a USA Green card but my China passport is expiring on July 25, 2009. I have a cruise on July 5 – 12, 2009. Do I need to renew my passport if I am going to Bermuda?

Best answer:

Answer by Charlie
You need to call the cruise line and ask for sure. U.S. Citizens are not required to have passports for loop cruises. Also, U.S. permanent residents can travel to and from Canada and Mexico with just their green cards and the same rules usually apply to cruises. See site below and read sections on loop cruises and U.S. permanent residents…but do call the cruise line and clarify all this as it is not specifically addressed in the info.

Where can I find a cooler bag not made in china?

Question by Rachel: Where can I find a cooler bag not made in china?
I have been searching all over the place for a cooler bag that is not made in china. I’ve tried most grocery stores and cruised around on the internet for awhile. All I could find was a lot of eco friendly sites, but I wasn’t able to locate a ‘not made in china’ directory.

Q&A: Why do people think that China relies on the West so much?

Question by Mr Miyagi wants a kiss: Why do people think that China relies on the West so much?
It is a myth, People must have overlooked the fact that China mines 97% of all rare earth metals, these metals are used in nuclear weapons, cruise missiles, catalytic converters, laptops, wind turbines, engines and just about every new green tech there is among millions of other things. China has restricted exports to Europe and the USA, they have basically played a great game. China has in recent years diversified its investments and they are waiting for the USA to loosen its grip on the mideast and will move in like they have done with south Asia and Africa.
@ Scott – i guess you have not been following how China has diversified their economy – there is no need to get angry it is just the way they have played such a good game.

yangtze river in china?

Question by yaaghoubleis: yangtze river in china?
Hello!

I would like to see the most beautiful nature of china ,Someone suggests yangtze river, yangtze is long river,

Which city do you suggest near yangtze?

Best answer:

Answer by World Unity/Peace
Visited it a few times via a small city called Zhangjiagang (went there because there was a golf course my dad likes to play in on an island in the river) near Shanghai. If you’ve been to world class places such as the Canadian Rockies, which I have visited before, it wouldn’t even seem anywhere near to being a beautiful place. I’d suggest you visit from a city in western China.

why is the Yangtze River important?

Question by shootingstar852: why is the Yangtze River important?

Answer by that bird
The Yangtze River is the longest river in Asia and third longest in the world. The headwaters of the Yangtze are situated at an elevation of about 16,000 feet in the Kunlun Mountains in the southwestern section of Qinghai. It flows generally south through Sichuan into Yuanan then northeast and east across central China through Sichuan, Hubei, Auhui, and Juangsu provinces to its mouth, 3,720 miles, in the East China Sea north of Shanghai. The river has over 700 tributaries
Waters of the Yangtze are often used for rice and wheat irrigation. It also has enormous and inexhaustible hydroelectric resources. In 1995 construction began on the Three Gorges Dam near Yichang and is scheduled for completion in 2009. The dam will measure about 600 feet and about 1.5 miles wide. The dam is expected to help control the flooding of the Yangtze River Valley. The Three Gorges (the Qutang Gorge, the Wuxia Gorge, and Xiling Gorge) will also be the largest electricity generating facility in the world. The hydroelectric generators will provide 1/9 of China’s total power output.
