How does damming pollute the yangtze river in China ? Or any other river ? Anyone knows ??
And how does damming kill the fish population in the rivers ?

Damming a flowing river alters the environment drastically. In the case of the Yangtze, the Chinese Paddlefish (Psephurus gladius) needs free flowing rivers with riffles free of fine sediments to spawn, and often migrate some distance to find a suitable place. Dams on the Mississippi River in North America have done great damage to the American Paddlefish (Polyodon spathula), the only living relative of the Chinese Paddlefish. They are also filter feeders, and the dam may affect the amount of zooplankton available for them.

Dams also change the water temperature and turbidity usually, and many fish are not tolerant of that sort of thing. Water levels fluctuate less, and in the Missouri-Mississippi drainages that has had a devastating effect on sturgeons.

When we make such major changes to habitat, the effects are huge to the life that depends on it. Changing a river into a lake isn’t quite as drastic as taking a fish out of water, but it’s closer than you think on many species.

God welling I want to visit Beijing 3 days then have a yangtze cruise for the rest of my 8 days trip in China? or will i chose to visit another city after Beijing Instead of The cruise??

Is the Yangtze that Beautiful? I like Rivers and relaxation but is Yangtze really that good ? and what things can we see during the cruise?

Any answer would be appreciated

The upper reaches of the Yangtze are much more beautiful than the lower reaches. Fly out to Chongqing and do the three day cruise from their down to the three gorges.Spend some time in Chongqing and then hop on the highspeed train and check out Chengdu.

I’m pretty sure China doesn’t have states and that Beijing and Shanghai are cities. I have been to both cities. Shanghai was very hot when I went, but there were lots of nature things to see while you’re driving on the road. The food is okay, but personally I enjoy eating food in Beijing more. Honestly, Beijing was the best for me because there are so many things to do, shop, eat, and go sightseeing. There are a lot of interesting buildings and you can see the Bird’s Nest! Beijing is a lot of fun.

The answer is “C”. The grand canal was built during the Sui Dynasty by Yandi. The canal was vital in transporting the crops that was mainly harvested in the south to the north were few crops can be grown.
