Giant Panda Breeding and Research Base

Guiyuan Temple

Located in the Wuhan city, the Guiyuan Buddhist Temple is a national key Buddhist Temple built by two Buddhists Biguan and Zhufeng. It was finished in the year of 1658 with a history of more than 300 years and it has been the site of Hubei Buddhist Association and Wuhan Buddhist Association nowadays characterized by towering old trees, lush flowers and trees, clear hot spring and green water, and winding path.

Guiyuan Temple

The Guiyuan Buddhist Temple is divided into 5 courtyards: east courtyard, west courtyard, south courtyard, north courtyard and middle courtyard and it covers an area of more than 20,000 square meters. There exists 28 palace halls and pavilions, whose plane layout shows the “ cossock” shape, and this is what it is different from other Buddhist Temples. Inside the Guiyuan Buddhist Temple, there are three main architectures: the Depositarry of Buddhist Texts, the Mahavira Hall and the Hall of the Arhats. The Depositarry of Buddhist Texts in the north courtyard is a pavilion-style archecture with two sides with its height 25 meters. The whole architectural looks exquisite, majestic and glorary. There are a plenty of the Buddhist relics in the Guiyuan Buddhist Temple, apart from the depositarry of Buddhist, there are also figure of Buddha, Res divini iuris, stone carvings, stone inscriptions of painting and calligraphy and foreign language books. There is a figure of Buddha whose weight is more than 1 tone made of jade stone set here, and there are only 3 figure of Buddhas of this kind in China, others are in Beijing and Shanghai.

First Bridge over the Yangtze River

Built in September 1955 and completed in October 1957, the First Bridge over the Yangtze River in Wuhan city is the first bridge connecting the the south Yangtze River and north Yangtze River in China and the first bridge over the Yangtze River features both railway and highway in China also. The Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge is composed of two parts: the highway in the upper floor with 18 meters wide and the railway in the down floor whose length is 1670 meters in total, among which the main bridge is 1156 meters long, the Hanyang band part totals 303 meters length and Wuchang band part 211 meters length. And the bridge features 2 bridge abutments, 8 mounds and 9 holes with the span of every hole 128 meters.

Hubei Provincial Museum

Located near the East Lake in Wuhan city of Hubei Province, the Hubei Provincial Museum is the only one provincial comprehensive museum in Hubei Province which is responsible for the collection, protection, exhibitions and the research work of the cultural relics in the whole Hubei province. It covers an floor space area of 81,909 square meters, structure area of 49,611 square meters and exhibition hall area of 13,427 square meters. There are more than 200,000 cultural relics in the museum, among which there are nearly 1,000 are belong to the first level relics and there is the biggest exhibition hall of ancient instrument in China.

Hubei Provincial Museum

Covering an area of 73 square kilometers including 33 square kilometers of lake area, the East Lake is located in the downtown of Wuhan City and it is the largest inner city lake in China. It has been listed as an AAAA level scenic area in China in the year of 2000.

The East Lake

Yellow Crane Tower

Yellow Crane Tower

The Yellow Crane is first built in the Three Country period and most famous in the Tang Dynasty period mainly because of the ancient poem named “The Yellow Crane Tower” written by Cui Hao, and the Song painting ” Yellow Crane Tower Painting” reshowes the appearance of the towers in Song Dynasty. It is located in the top of the She Mountain whose altitude of height is 61.7 meters above sea level and it is designed with the Tongzhi Tower in the Qing dynasty as its prototypes.

Located in the Guangkou County about 60 km northwest of Chengdu in Sichuan Province, the Dujiangyan Irrigation Project is a large irrigation project that was built in ancient times and till has been utilized nowadays. Dujiangyan Irrigation Project can be divided into three major parts: first is a levee with best design named Yuzui erected in the middle of the river that was shaped to control the amount of water that entered the two channels; next will be the channel of the irrigation project that was cut through a mountain by means of heating the rock and then pouring water on it, and finally is a spillway called Feishayan that was dug to discharge water and silt.
